 B2585

1. Vehicle OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the K9 Body Control Module.

2. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B + circuit terminal 3 X2 and ground.

If the test lamp is not illuminated, it should be noted.

3. Connect the harness connector to the K9 Body Control Module and disconnect the harness connector.

4. Test for less than 5 Ω between the tail light and the ground light.

• E4J Sidelight - Left Front harness connector terminal 1

• E5AA Tail / Brake Lamp - Left harness connector terminal 3

• Tail Lamp - Left harness connector terminal 2

If greater than the specified value

5. Connect the test lamp between the chain and the ground.

• E4J Sidelight - Left Front harness connector terminal 2

• E5AA Tail / Brake Lamp - Left harness connector terminal 2

• Tail Lamp - Left harness connector terminal 1

6. Command Tail Lamp test on and off with a scan tool. The lamp lamp should turn on and off when changing between the commanded states.

If the test lamp is always on, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests, replace the K9 Body Control Module.

If the test lamp is always OFF, it’s a short circuit. If the circuits test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.

7. If all the circuits are normal, replace the appropriate inoperative tail lamp.
