Hongqi is a Chinese luxury car brand owned by the FAW Group. Hongqi were the first passenger cars manufactured
First manufactured in 1958, the original Hongqi models were intended only for high-ranking communist party members. They remained in production until 1981.
Subsequently, the lineup was significantly expanded, and the former elite brand began to produce taxis and business-class sedans.
In 2008, the company was merged with Besturn, which led to an increase in the number of outlets and, as a result, to an increase in revenue.
In 2010, Besturn models were shown at the Beijing Auto Show under the Hongqi name, and until 2011, both brands used Hongqi badges.
