B2AAA Incorrect trouble code reading format. The user needs to use other equipment or software for diagnostics.

120208 Overpressure

120308, 30FF Insufficient boost pressure

The problem manifests itself with the following errors:

- a malfunction in the turbine or discharge device;

- reduced pressure of the engine fluid in the engine;

- malfunctions in the EGR system;

- the appearance of excess air in the intake manifold or the supply of air flow is difficult due to clogging of the filter;

- failure of the boost pressure controller.

120408 Insufficient boost pressure. There may be problems with the drive.

244c00 Critically low discharge air pressure. With such a problem, the engine can accelerate poorly, and the box often does not go into manual or sport mode (for automatic transmissions). It is recommended to dismantle the turbine and diagnose it, as well as make sure that there are no defects and that the geometry of the unit is correct.

4200a3 False code that does not indicate a malfunction in the car. The reason is the incorrect functioning of the car control unit software or malfunctioning firmware. Also, the code may be informational in nature and not be related to the microprocessor.

3100 Malfunctions in the boost pressure control system. The problem may be air leaks, so you need to check all the lines of the system for leaks.

4166 Malfunctions in the soot particle filter system

4501, 4530 Malfunction of the exhaust gas recirculation control system. With such an error, it is recommended to diagnose all components of the unit, but start with oxygen and air flow sensors. Most likely, one of the devices must be replaced.

285E Error EML (EML) - a malfunction in the valve control system. There may be problems with starting the engine, up to the impossibility of starting it.

29F2 Low pressure fuel system low pressure

2C58 Malfunctioning boost pressure control system. There was a shutdown of the unit, possible malfunctions in the engine. Pressure build-up is out of range.

2E81 Water pump rpm does not match setpoints. Most likely, the problem is a malfunction of the motor or internal contact closure.

452A Particulate filter system malfunction

5F12 Wear or failure of brake pads. Perhaps the problem is the operation of the sensor itself, mounted on the pads.

5F13 Wear on brake pads in the vehicle. The problem is the rear axle, so you need to test the pads located on the rear wheels.

9C64 Malfunction of the automatic air recirculation control system. The problem must be sought in the wiring or poor-quality contact of one of the sensors. Also, the cause may be a malfunction of the air conditioning control unit or the compressor unit.

30FE Critically High Turbocharger Boost Pressure

377A Water pump or pump malfunction - device is locked. A replacement mechanism is required, since it cannot be repaired at home.

93C1 Malfunction code in the passive safety system, may indicate a malfunction in the strap or pillows. It is necessary to test all the sensors and the correctness of their connection, as well as the absence of damage or clogging on the pads. The problem may be with belt tensioners or pillow squibs.

9C76 Malfunction of the auxiliary water pump

130308 Failures in the operation of the variable valve timing system. Malfunction of the control mechanism, the required position of the shafts is not achieved.

2731 Malfunction of the intake camshaft control system. The problem should be sought in the first and second rows of cylinders.

27BC Malfunctions in the control function of the camshaft of the exhaust system in the second row. Reported tag or valve misidentification.

2A6F Valvetronic valve timing system malfunction - minimum lift limit exceeded

2A9A Difficulties in the work of the camshafts - the sensor readings are out of range

2A99 Malfunction of the exhaust camshaft correlation system. The cause of the problem must be sought in the pulley itself, the lack of alignment of marks or mechanical damage to one of the teeth. Also, the problem may be in the camshaft sensor.

P13C0 The variable valve timing system is malfunctioning. The cause must be sought in the valves, the shafts themselves or the sensors.

P0011 Incorrect camshaft position, the problem is in the first engine bank. The engine control unit reports an too early angle for opening the valves, a malfunction of the system is noted. The cause of the problem P0011 may consist in the operation of the engine control unit.

P0012 (0012) Late position A of the camshaft in the first bank. With this error, the Check Engine indicator on the dashboard is always on.

Reasons that could lead to this problem:

- reduced engine fluid level or critically dirty lubricant; consumables must be changed;

- malfunctions or malfunction of the valve timing mechanism;

- malfunctioning engine fluid control valve;

- open circuit or short circuit of the VVT circuit;

- malfunction of the wiring supplying the lubrication control valve, possibly a short circuit;

- malfunctions associated with the operation of the ECM control module.

P0014 Malfunction of the drive mechanism for changing the valve timing. Valve opening angle reported too early.

P0015 Malfunctions in the drive unit of the variable valve timing system. The problem is related to the release of the first engine bank. The reason should be sought in the late opening angle.

P0022 Wrong position of camshafts. The problem is the valve opening angle is too late. The cause of the malfunction may consist in incorrect alignment of marks on the pulleys or malfunctions in the functioning of the control module.

P0024 Wrong position of the engine camshaft. The problem should be sought in the second bank of the power unit. The reason is the opening angle is too early.

P1017 Malfunctions in the operation of the variable valve timing system, the problem is in the first engine bank. The reason is the signal arriving at the control unit - the pulse goes beyond the upper or lower range. It is necessary to test the wiring and connectors.

P1030 Malfunctions associated with the operation of the variable valve timing system. The problem is the rejection of control in the first bank of the power unit. The reason should be sought in the power line.

P1553 Invalid reference value in the position of the crankshaft and camshaft of the intake valves. The resulting value is out of range.

P2870 (2870) Stop adaptation of the Vanos system associated with a change in the valve timing.

Malfunctions in the fuel system

 

11A002 Invalid fuel pressure in the line recorded by the control unit

1260 Malfunction in the control system of the fuel pumping device. It is necessary to check the integrity of the wiring and the quality of the contact of the pump motor with the on-board network. 2E82 Pump malfunction, mechanism shuts down

P0170 Malfunction of the fuel balance system. The problem P0170 must be sought in the first bank of the power unit. A malfunction is usually accompanied by a limitation of engine power.

P0173 Malfunctions in the fuel balance maintenance system The problem is the second power bank. The reason may be a malfunction of the fuel pump or one of the elements of the ignition system. It is also necessary to test the operation of oxygen sensors and air flow.

P0420 Catalytic converter malfunction. The problem is the first engine bank and indicates no reduced efficiency in the operation of the unit.

Symptoms of error:

- The car engine does not start. It is possible that the motor starts, but stalls after a few seconds.

- Increased fuel consumption.

- The vehicle is gaining speed too slowly. This problem appears until a certain point, which depends on the degree of contamination or damage to the unit. For example, when driving in low gears, speed picks up quickly, and when moving to higher gears - slowly.

- The engine malfunction check icon on the dashboard lights up.

P2096 Incorrect formation of the air-fuel mixture and a malfunction in the fuel balance system. In practice, this problem is usually associated with malfunctions in the operation of oxygen controllers and air mass flow. In the first bank of the engine, a lean fuel mixture is observed.

BMW Engine errors

 

01F01 Incorrect throttle opening angle pressure. It is necessary to test the operation of the mechanism, it may stick in the open or closed position.

138701 Malfunctions in the radiator installation. The problem is the incorrect position of the engine cooling radiator screen. The device may be clogged or worn out.

123 Thermostat malfunction. The user needs to diagnose the device and check its wiring.

1613 Malfunctioning smooth idle system. Possible jumps in speed up or down, reducing the power of the power unit.

2742 Failures in the formation of the air mixture or misfire in the first cylinder of the engine

2774 Incorrect air mass required to form an air-fuel mixture. The amount of air is critically large.

2854 Malfunctioning variable throttle mechanism. It is necessary to test the operation of the sensor and the assembly itself, perhaps the shutter jammed.

2882 Depleted air-fuel mixture in the cylinders of the power unit

2883 Incorrect air-fuel ratio, formation problems fixed. If the throttle position, air and oxygen flow sensors are operational, then the functioning of the control module must be tested. Perhaps, as a result of a software malfunction, the device set the wrong parameters for the formation of the air mixture.

4203 The literal interpretation of the error is “the starting state of the glow plug.” It is necessary to check the operation of the devices and replace them in case of wear. If the spark plugs are new, the cause may be a malfunction or software malfunction of the glow plug control unit.

7B Programmable Cooling Activation Message

274E Multiple Misfire Reported

279C Thermostat malfunction (device jamming), but this error code may indicate the following problems:

Damaged wiring or low-quality signal from the device to the control unit. It is necessary to check the integrity of the power line and make sure that the contact is good.

Use of low quality fluid. As a result of the fact that the spent consumable cannot fulfill its functions of cooling the power unit, the microprocessor module regards this as a malfunction of the thermostat.

Clogging of the channels of the cooling system with wear products and antifreeze deposits. To fix the problem, you will have to dismantle all the pipes and clean them. Critically clogged lines must be replaced.

Malfunction of the gauge of temperature of a cooling liquid. The problem may result from a software failure.

Mechanical damage to one of the pipes or the expansion tank, which led to the leakage of refrigerant from the system.

28A0 Wrong throttle position angle. Inlet pressure is not in accordance with standardized data.

29D2 Microprocessor module detected misfire in the sixth engine cylinder

29D9 Misfire of fuel at a reduced fuel volume in the tank. It is necessary to erase the error, refuel the car and test the control unit again.

29E1 Error correction of fuel in the formation of a combustible mixture. It is necessary to diagnose the operation of sensors that affect the compositions - oxygen, air. Also, the problem may be a malfunction of the engine control unit.

2AA9 General error code indicating a problem with the input collector

2AAB Exhaust System Malfunction

2AAC Malfunctions related to variable intake system 2, error recorded during self-test

2A6B Malfunctions in the automatic valve control system, the problem must be sought in the functioning of the servomotor

2A67 Internal error in the operation of the adjustable valve lift system. With error 2A67, a detailed check of the elements for lack of wear and sticking is required.

2A7E Reported mechanical seizure of valve at Vanos

2A80 On BMW E87 and other versions, this code indicates a malfunction in the intake valve system

2A82 Mechanical seizure of vanos inlet valves; devices may not operate properly. If error 2A82 on the BMW E83 and other versions, it is necessary to check the operation of the drive element, if necessary, the valves change.

2A83 The translation from English of this error is “malfunctions of the Vanos system (intake), the angle correction is outside the normalized range”. The first thing to do is to check the operation of the valves.

2A87 Malfunction of the solenoid valves of the Vanos system.

To fix the problem, the user must:

- clean or replace the Vanos valve;

- Perform system adaptation;

- check the case of the oil filter; its “nose” may have broken off;

- diagnose the executive unit for jamming and seizing;

- check the screws securing the actuator for loosening;

- Diagnose the control module for software problems.

2A61 Crash in the learning function of the Valvetronic system. The problem should be sought for software malfunctions of the control module.

2A98 Violation of the synchronization of the cam shaft with the crankshaft. Possible malfunctioning of the respective sensors or wear of the timing belt. In Error 2A98, all pulleys should also be checked for defects.

2B68 Incorrect air mass flow. The problem may consist in the operation of the flowmeter sensor or a malfunction in one of the air lines. In rare cases, the cause is problems associated with the engine itself.

2B70 This error code may have several interpretations:

Activating the intake manifold length change. If the error is irregular, then the malfunction may be stuck in the servo drive. Failure is accompanied by a decrease in traction.

Short circuit in the operation of the DISA actuator. It is required to check the valves of the device.

2CF8 Malfunction of the throttle potentiometer, possible causes of the problem:

potentiometer sensor malfunction;

a short circuit inside the motor winding of the throttle valve;

lack of connection or poor-quality throttle contact with wiring;

wear of the insulating layer of the cable, which led to a change in the resistance value on the line.

2D06 Malfunction in the air mass supply system. The problem will lead to malfunctions in the formation of the combustible mixture.

Items to be diagnosed:

- mass air flow sensor;

- vacuum line for air leaks;

- valve cover for possible damage;

- EGR valve;

- intercooler;

- intake manifold assembly;

- highways connected to the intercooler;

- exhaust system with turbine;

- swirl flaps;

- air filter.

2EF7 This error code may have several notations:

Thermostat malfunction. The user needs to check the operation of the device and make sure that it does not jam. The problem may be accompanied by malfunctions of the cooling system and overheating of the power unit. The thermostat malfunction may be due to clogging of the cooling system lines with sediment from antifreeze.

Nitric oxide sensor error. It is necessary to check the connection quality of the device, as well as the absence of contamination on the connector.

29D1 Misfire in the fifth cylinder of the engine has been detected. With such a problem, you should first check the spark plugs themselves, and then make sure that they are in good contact with the car's electrical network, in particular, high-voltage wires. The cause of the problem may be a malfunction of the distributor.

29F4 Literal translation of the error is “catalytic conversion conversion”. The cause of the problem is a malfunction or poor connection of the catalytic converter.

29F5 Clogged catalyst that may be associated with the following problems:

regular use of low-quality fuel;

natural wear of the unit;

clogged cell filter.

The power unit with this problem begins to work unstably, it is possible to reduce power and the lack of response to pressing the gas pedal. The Check Engine indicator appears on the dashboard and the fuel consumption is also increased.

To check the catalyst for clogging, you can resort to one of the following methods:

- Light up the device using a flashlight. It is best to drive the car into a pit and dismantle the assembly.

- Try to identify clogging on the scent. If the catalyst device is clogged, a pungent odor gas will escape from the exhaust pipe.

- Substitute a hand to the muffler. If the node is working properly, the user will feel serious opposition. If the catalyst is clogged, there will be no serious resistance.

434E Malfunction of the damper system, activation of the device is impaired

4A63 Intake manifold malfunctions, detailed unit diagnosis required

480A Code 480A can have two decryption:

critical contamination of the particulate filter;

4D2D Malfunction indicating a limitation of the power output of the power unit. The problem may be with the injectors or one of the engine sensors. Also, the cause may be a malfunction of the control module by the motor.

A0B4 Starting the power unit on a car with a working starter.

Possible causes of the problem:

- Faulty CAS or DME module. It is necessary to check both devices and test their connection quality. - - The problem may be a communication failure due to wire wear.

- Software malfunction of the control unit. It is necessary to test the module itself and its firmware.

- Faulty starter mechanism. Perhaps one of the structural elements of the device is stuck.

P12BA Fuel injection time error in the fourth cylinder of the engine - the fuel supply is too early. It is necessary to check the operation of nozzles and wires. If the problem occurs after washing the engine, you need to dry all the contacts on the high-voltage cables.

P13B4 Malfunctioning vanos valve or mesh device. The problem is accompanied by a decrease in the power of the power unit.

P14A3 Particulate filter malfunction. You can try to clean this device if it is clogged, but most likely, the filter element will have to be changed.

P0102 Failure in the flowmeter in the car - a critically low signal is coming from the device to the engine control module.
