Abarth 595

History of Abarth Cars

Some ABARTH Car Owner's Manuals PDF are above the page - Grande, 500C, Punto Evo, 500.

The Abarth brand, whose emblem was a scorpion on a shield, was founded in 1949 in Turin by Austrian Karl Abarth.

In 1952, Abarth began collaborating with FIAT. As a result, cars with modest engine capacities from 850 to 2000 cm3, loaded with the "Scorpion", could compete with the legendary Porsche 911 and Ferrari Dino.

And not just compete. In 1963, factory racer Hans Herrmann won the "500 kilometers of the Nurburgring" race against these classic sports cars.

After that, they began to say that Karlo Abarth gave the little FIAT 500 a new soul.

In 1971, "Scorpion" was acquired by FIAT and Abarth became its racing department. Here, FIAT cars were also prepared for participation in rallies and engines for Lancia were boosted.

In 2007, Abarth was revived again as a separate brand under the wing of FIAT. The resurrection of the brand was confirmed by the charged Grande Punto Abarth and Grande Punto Abarth S2000.

Today, the Abarth range ranges from accessories and exhaust systems to live "lighters" on wheels - the charged FIAT 500 and FIAT Grande Punto.

The Abarth 595, created on the basis of the FIAT 500, is equipped with a 1. 4-liter T-Jet turbo engine with a capacity of 160 hp. For a light car, this is a maximum speed of 211 km / h and acceleration to 100 km / h in just 7. 4 seconds.

Even cooler is the Abarth 695, equipped with a turbocharged engine with 205 horsepower. Its distinctive external feature is a spoiler on the roof and 17-inch wheels. Despite the size, all "Scorpio" babies have adult luxurious leather interiors.
